Info: Minutes of February Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 1904 on January 29, 2009 with 11 members present. Members present were Jim Hightower, Wanda Hightower, Art Wilkinson, Felix Crisostomo, Roger Retzlaff, Scott Miller, Ryan Lunceford, Leo Ferrera, Christina Ferrera, Tiffany Clement and Alice Friend. The following information was included, discussed or motioned: a. Reading of the last months minutes:
Minutes were read and accepted with no changes.

b. Communication from the President: SAR conference is coming up in May 15-17 in Lewis County. Everyone needs to get ready for it. The team will be teaching altitude diving, capsule training and decompression/dive table training. However, we will not do capsule training unless there is a pool available. Get registration form Wanda ASAP. This summer we be having a class for PSDA and Rescue Diver on top of regular training. But no make ups will be given for any of the course missed. We need more people on the team, so start recruiting.


c. Treasurer’s report: Account balance for 2008 was $7,295.93. All bills paid and no outstanding debts. In process of completing the 990 for the CFC.


d. Committee reports: Training: Next month we will have a schedule for training to be conducted for next two months. Wanda is also calling for availability of a pool to use. Uniform: Wanda needs sizes for T-shirts and Jackets. Equipment: Jim has new catalog helmets and comms. Checking with company on price. Public relations: Kid’s day at the fairgrounds on June 6. The dive tank should be repaired by then.


FUTURE TRAININGS and DIVES:

f. New business:


1. Elections. Elections were conducted with the members present. Results of the elections were:


President – Jim Hightower, Vice President – Art Wilkinson, Treasurer – Wanda Hightower, Secretary- Alice Friend, Board of Directors – Leo Ferrera, Tiffany Clement, Felix Crisostomo, and Roy Brown. Tiffany Clement was appointed as Training Committee Chairman.


New officers will take over in March.


2. Art passed around the roster for team members to update and is also coming up with a handy pocket phone list for all team member numbers.


3. Scott motioned to have team pay due’s for actively participating members. Alice seconded the motion. A vote was taken and it was unanimously rejected.


4. Art motioned to have 2009 dues eliminated for actively participating member. Tiffany seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel joining the team in 2009 will still be required to pay the $20.00 dues.


h. Wanda motioned to adjourn the meeting. Tiffany seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 2020. Next meeting will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Sound Dive Center.
